It's amazing how much fun three kids can have with dollar store bubbles and a little Dawn.

Splish Splash
We've come a long way since last summer--both in terms of our metal swimming tub and our old point-and-shoot camera...

Our new and improved pool has already more than paid for itself this summer after countless hours of playtime, and I love the pictures I can take with our Nikon.
The girls love that they can actually swim in the new pool, as well as just splash around.
How precious is our spunky 2-year-old in her goggles?
It warms my heart to see the girls playing so well together. Ella copies everything Gracie does and simply adores her sister. They could do this for hours.
Although Sutton loves the water, he does not love this pool. The water is a tad too cold for him, so he'd much rather watch his sisters act silly and scream like banshees while he enjoys his favorite food--watermelon.
And sometimes, he just gets into everything he can on the patio while looking really cute.
Each day, it's just amazing to watch Ella explore her world (and test her boundaries). She's such a fun little girl.
I love all the sweet, sweet memories we're making this summer!Sunday, June 20, 2010
Happy Fathers Day
From the moment we met, I knew Travis would be a good father. But, I could never have imagined that he would be this good. I am so grateful that our Heavenly Father blessed our children with such a wonderful earthly father.
And, I continue to be blessed with a wonderful earthly father, and I am thankful for all the time he gets to spend with my babies. We sure do love our Poppy.
Finally, here are some pics of the cuties who make Fathers Day so special at our house.

First Haircuts Day
Yesterday was First Haircut Day for the Spillman babies, minus Grace. She got one, also, but she's been doing this for two years. It was Ella and Sutton's first time, and it was definitely a day to remember. Grace, being the pro, went first and set a great example for her sister and brother.
On the way there, Travis and I attempted to pump Ella up by telling her what a big girl she was for getting her hair cut. She didn't buy it, and her reply was, "No, I not getting a hair cut. I no want one!" Once she saw Grace, however, she changed her tune and was an angel in the chair. I don't think the lollipop motivated her one bit (ha, ha). Afterward, she kept telling us, "Look my haircut. I look so pretty!"
The positive pace took a turn for the worse as soon as Sutton got into the chair, or really as soon as Travis got into the chair and tried to keep Sutton still on his lap. To say he threw a fit is an understatement. For the entire time (what seemed like an hour), Sutton screamed, yelled, drooled, thrashed and gasped for air. It was awful. I seriously don't know how the sweet stylist was able to do her job without slicing his head open. She was incredibly patient and assured us that it will be easier next time. We're not really looking forward to it, but it's amazing what a difference a haircut made. Sutton didn't cheer up until he got his own lollipop in the car. Next time, I'm not opposed to giving him the lollipop during the haircut if it will make things easier.

Potty Training Success!
Who do these panties belong to? I'll give you a hint: she is 2 and 1/2, super cute, hilarious, opinionated and was harder to potty train than her sister. It still only took about a week, and I am convinced that the "cold turkey" approach is the best for our family. We said goodbye to diapers on a Thursday and haven't used one since. No diapers, no training pants, no pullups. We just cut our diaper bill in half! Praise the Lord!
