First Adventure Princess Campout

This weekend, Travis and Grace embarked on their first Adventure Princess campout with 16 other daddy-daughter pairs. Who knew they'd need this much stuff for just one night?
After Travis loaded it all up, they headed north to a YMCA camp near Anna.
Ella was disappointed and said, "When I get bigger, I will go camping, too. Right mama?" I said of course and thought "but you'll have to change your outfit."
The first campout activity was fishing, and Grace quickly caught a fish. She and Travis were both so proud.
One of Grace's favorite things about the weekend was that her friend Dagny and Dagny's daddy were there, too. These two started preschool together when they were just 2 years old and have been friends ever since. Although they're at different schools now and don't get to see each other as often as they would like, they always enjoy each others' company, and this weekend was no exception.
They're both such sweet, silly girls.
Apparently, it took them a while to get ready for dinner. They had to get their hats just right.
After dinner, they built a campfire and roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. Grace impressed everyone with her ability to eat marshmallows. She just couldn't get enough.
When it was time for bed, Grace spent several minutes straightening the sleeping bag on her bed. She is very particular about things like this, even when she's camping. At home when we're tucking her in, she asks us at least five times to "please straighten my bed."
And, she was finally ready and slept all night on the top bunk, right next to Dagny on the neighboring top bunk. Travis slept down below Grace, but didn't have as restful a night on the hard mattress.
The next morning, Grace was as happy as ever, and she was so glad to share the night with Lamby.
What a fun, memorable weekend and just the first of many camping trips!
