Ella hasn't been feeling well lately--lots of coughing and a runny nose--but we just had to get out of the house on Sunday afternoon. Because it was so chilly, playing at the park was not an option, so we decided to visit the Dallas Children's Museum. Added bonus--Dory got to come along! Although we had some rough moments, our trip was great. Grace said her favorite part was digging for dinosaur bones in the sandbox. Ella, however, did NOT like the sand on her feet!
Moments before this, Grace was playing nicely by herself, when a little boy walked over to her and dumped a huge shovel full of sand on top of her head. It was everywhere--stuck to her hair, all over her clothes and even underneath. And, do you know what the boy's mother did? Not much. Nope, she just sat there and told the kid to say he was sorry. Grace looked at me with such a sad face and asked, "Why did he do that, Mommy? It was not very nice." While trying to dust her off, I told her I didn't know, but that sometimes kids do mean things. That's just not how our family treats people. I wouldn't try to tell someone else how to parent, but if one of my kids had done the same thing, I would have pulled them out of the sandbox immediately. It really made me mad that the mother wasn't bothered by it. Oh, well.
After that, we explored the rest of the museum. Travis helped Gracie make GIANT bubbles. Ella just wanted to touch the bubble solution and was intrigued by the gravity demonstration...

Another big hit for both of them? The water play room. Dory did her best to keep them dry, but we still left with soggy sleeves. They loved this giant rubber duck. Ella wanted to take it home!
Next, we visited the little farm and had fun picking vegetables and riding on a pony...
When Travis and I saw this, we laughed so hard. It's typical Ella, but something Grace never would have done...
Grace tried milking a cow, but the look on her face shows that she wasn't too sure about it...
We finished up at the backyard play place, and Grace enjoyed climbing through the ant tunnels. Ella was ready for a nap at this point, so we headed home. What a great way to burn off some energy on a cold afternoon!

Your mother hasn't changed one bit. She is just beautiful! Thanks for the visual on the museum. I think we'll take Cannon during spring break! Glad all is well with ya'll! Shame on the sand-box boy!
This looks so fun (minus the sand-box bully)! We're planning a trip there next week with Ethan's little friends, so we're excited! Hope you're doing and feeling well!
