Welcome, 2009!

What a year 2008 has been! A year ago, we had a spunky 2-year-old and a 7-week old, and now, we have two very active girls- ages 3 and 1. It's hard to believe that a year from now, we'll have a 4-year-old, 2-year-old, and a 7-month old- YIKES!

Travis and I both worked on New Years Eve, but we came home early and took the girls, Grambie and Papa Jim to Ojeda's because we didn't need a reservation and we knew they would seat us right away. As always, they didn't disappoint. Then, we came home, played, put Ella to bed, and started a movie with Gracie. Because Grambie offered to watch the girls, Travis and I headed out to a real New Years Eve party around 9:30!

There, we were greeted by good friends, more yummy Mexican food and a wine tasting (just water for me). Travis totally redeemed himself of the reputation of Worst Wine Taster Ever. You see, we went to the same friends' house two years ago for a NYE bash, and they had a wine tasting. Not complicated--just decide if the wine is cheap or expensive (under or over $15). That first year, Travis got 0% correct (100% wrong). Seriously, it was embarrassing. His "prize" was a delicious bottle of Riunite Lambrusco. Since then, Dr. Bob has teased him mercilessly about it and never lets him pick the wine when we go out for dinner. Well, this year, he had the benefit of my super-sensitive nose, and he tied for 1st place with 75% correct! I'm so proud of him! And, I'm proud of us for actually making it to 12:00, getting in our New Year's kiss and getting home around 1:00!
