Ella is 15 Months Old!

What a difference a month can make! Ella's vocabulary has increased so much this month. Her new words: nana (banana), GG (one of Gracie's nicknames), bowl, apple, agua (water and any other drink), cracker, cookie, box, bite, shoes, bath, socks, ish (fish), hot, peek-a-boo (although it sounds more like "peet a boo"), up and down, cake, bow (yes, hairbow), beep beep, circle, boy, home, and bup (cup). She's even throwing out sentences, like, "Uh oh! I see you!" and "I have poo poo." This week, she picked up a small circle-shaped toy, and when Dori asked her what it was, she promptly replied, "It's a circle." I replied, "What did you say?" And she said, "It's a circle." So smart!

It really blows me away that she's such a little sponge. She's learned that bees say "buzz" and owls say "whooo." She recognizes and calls the following people by name: mama, dada, GG, Pop (Poppy), Ori (Dori), Bubba, Gabby and Pj.

Her latest obsessions include playing hide and seek, where she can usually be found hiding behind curtains. She also wants to do everything Gracie does, including riding Grace's bicycle, the tricycle and the Barbie Jeep. She tries to put on her own socks and shoes, and loves picking out her shoes. She'll pick up one, and then look around for the matching shoe. She usually finds the pair!

She is such a social butterfly and likes to talk to everyone. At restaurants, she'll look at the people at nearby tables and start batting her long eyelashes and giggling. She usually gets a warm reaction, which encourages her even more. She wakes up happy and stays that way until she's ready for a nap or bedtime. She does NOT like to stay up late and usually calls it a night around 7:45. She is a fabulous eater and has recently discovered hummus, pita, cucumbers and tortillas. Her belly gets so full that it extends way beyond her diaper--too cute! She's still silly and sweet, and we're so happy she's ours!
